Welcome Week is a series of activities designed to enhance your educational experience at SDSU by engaging you in various aspects of student life on campus. More than 95 percent of new Aztecs participate in Welcome Week. Make sure you are one of them!

Templo del Sol

Friday, August 28, 9 pm, ENS field

First, be part of the largest ice breaker in Welcome Week history! Meet new and returning students at this high-energy session! Then celebrate your official entrance to the Aztec Community. Hear from former NFL MVP and Aztec alum Brian Sipe about being an Aztec, and leave your mark as the incoming class of 2009.

New Student and Family Convocation

Saturday, August 29, 10 am - Noon
Join President Stephen L. Weber and Vice President for Student Affairs James R. Kitchen for this official welcome at Viejas Arena.

Saturday, August 29, 10 pm - 2 am
Head back to the Hepner Hall stage for a night of dancing, entertainment, and of course free food! You don't want to miss out on this event. Music by DJ Drew, free caricaturist drawings, henna tatoos, and much more!

Aztec Bash @ State!

Tuesday, September 1, Noon, La Tienda @ Aztec Center
Enjoy music, festivities and school spirit at this great barbecue hosted by Vice President for Student Affairs James R. Kitchen.

Meet Coach Hoke and Aztec football team players. Free lunch for the first 2,000 students!

Screen on the Green

Sunday, August 30, 9 pm, Aztec Green
Screen on the Green is a favorite Welcome Week tradition. Bring a blanket and claim your spot early. Free popcorn and cotton candy. Movie is TBD.

Community Receptions

Tuesday, September 1 and Wednesday, September 2, Aztec Center
The 7th annual community receptions welcome incoming students who share similar backgrounds and cultural experiences. Learn how to get involved by interacting with student organizations, faculty and staff.

AS Day

Wednesday, September 2, All Day, Aztec Center
Jump on board with AS, as they showcase all that is Associated Students! There will be games, prizes, a movie screening, food, fun, and LOTS of information on how you can be an active part of AS! Stop by Aztec Center to learn more. See you there!

Pool Party

Friday, September 4, 1 - 5 pm, Aquaplex
Come to the Open House to relax after your first week of school. Free food, an inflatable Slip 'n Slide, music, and friends. Bring your SDSU Red ID card. No ARC membership required.

Join other new students, returning students, faculty, and staff to celebrate the start of the school year!
