Over 95% of new Aztecs participate in these thrilling events. Join us and begin your SDSU adventure!
Schedule
9 pm -12 midnight, outside Hepner Hall
This is your first official night as an Aztec. Meet fellow classmates, learn the fight song, and participate in our traditions at SDSU.
8:45 am, Residence Halls
Bring your family and your school spirit to this early morning walk, led by SDSU’s marching band and cheerleaders. Feel a sense of pride as you make your way through campus as an SDSU Aztec. Commuter students are encouraged to join in for this brisk walk through campus.
10 am, Viejas Arena
Join President Elliot Hirshman and Vice President for Student Affairs James R. Kitchen for this official welcome at Viejas Arena.
3 pm, Aztec Football Practice Field (behind Parking Structure 5)
Join the Aztec football team for a special open practice. The players and coaches will teach the students Aztec football traditions and will give you the opportunity to run through practice drills, including a chance to catch a pass from the Aztec quarterbacks. After practice, the Aztec players and coaches will join attendees for a welcome BBQ.
10 pm - 2 am, outside Hepner Hall
Head to the Hepner Hall stage for a night of dancing, entertainment, and free food! You don’t want to miss out on this event. Music by DJ J.A.M., free caricature drawings, henna tattoos, and much more!
11 am - 3 pm, Mission Bay Aquatic Center
Enjoy a day of fun in the sun at the Mission Bay Aquatic Center operated by Associated Students. SDSU students will have exclusive use of the aquatic center, featuring keelboats, hobiecats, and kayaks. You can also hang out on the beach and play volleyball, listen to music, enjoy lunch, and soak up the sun. Meet in front of the east side residence halls at 11 am to ride the buses to the bay.
5 - 8 pm, Aztec Recreation Center
Kick off the school year with lots of free pizza, dance demos, giant twister, basketball contests, and more! Win free prizes and learn more about Aztec Recreation at SDSU!
9 pm - 12 midnight, Aztec Green
Bring a blanket and claim your spot on the grass early. Enjoy free popcorn as you watch the blockbuster hit, “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides”!
7:30 am - 6 pm, Centennial Walkway and Hepner Hall Quad
Staff will be available to answer questions and help students navigate the campus.

Enjoy great music and a free barbeque hosted by Vice President for Student Affairs James R. Kitchen. After lunch, stop by the Student Involvement Expo to find out how to get involved on campus.

Make your college years count by getting involved! With over 280 organizations on campus, you’ll be sure to find one that interests you! Attend this event to meet and mingle with student members of these organizations.
4 pm, Cholula Community Center

All Day, Campanile Walkway
Check out everything that YOUR Associated Students (AS) has to offer. The day will include games, prizes, fun, and information on how YOU can “join the team” to become an active part of AS!
10 am - 2 pm, North Library Walkway
The All-Greek Expo will showcase 40 of SDSU's fraternities and sororities. From noon until 1 pm, there will be a roll call of all our chapters/colonies. We will showcase all our amazing groups. Learn more about the Greek community and their recruitment process.
1 pm - 4 pm, EOP Tutoring Center, Student Services East 2109
This event is a great opportunity for new EOP students to meet current EOP students and staff while listening to music, playing games, and watching movies.
4 pm, Cholula Community Center

Celebrate the first week of school at the Campus Carnival on Campanile Walkway. Enjoy exciting rides, fun games, and carnival snacks.

12 noon - 4 pm, Aquaplex
Come to the Aquaplex Open House to relax after your first week of school. Grab a lounge chair or water raft and enjoy free pizza, music and friends. Bring your SDSU Red ID card. Aztec Recreation Center membership is not required.
3:30 pm, Cholula Community Center

9 pm - 12 midnight, Peterson Gym
Watch some of the hottest comedians on TV perform live, and enjoy some laughs with your friends.
7 pm, Qualcomm Stadium
Come support the SDSU Aztecs Football Team at their game against Cal Poly! Make sure to wear your red and black and get ready to cheer on the Aztecs! Come early to the official student tailgate in section K-2 for free food, games, and give-aways! Tailgate begins at 5 pm.
9:30 pm, Parking Structure 6
Don’t be left in the dark! After the football game, head back to campus to enjoy this black light illuminated event.

You choose SDSU’s best bands and DJ’s, while honoring our troops serving overseas.
9 pm – midnight, Open Air Theatre
