Spanish Language Proficiency Test

 

General Information

The Spanish Language Proficiency Test is taken for two purposes: 1) As a challenging exam to satisfy foreign language requirements for Liberal Arts and Science Majors and/or 2) to waive 200 level Spanish courses which are prerequisites for more advanced classes.

Who Needs to Take the "Spanish Language Proficiency Test?"

Any Liberal Arts and Sciences major that wishes to attempt to satisfy their foreign language requirement with a Spanish test. Also, any student wishing to attempt to waive 200 level Spanish courses in order to take more advanced courses.

Registration Procedures

Spanish Proficiency online registration (credit card or check)
Online Registration hours of availability: 6:30 a.m. - midnight (PST)

OR

Fill out the Spanish Proficiency mail-in registration form

OR

Come to the SDSU Student Testing, Assessment & Research Office, (SSW-2549), during business hours (Monday - Friday 8 am - 4:30 pm) and purchase a ticket of admission. The fee for the DPES is $25.00. Tickets purchased August 20, 2007 or later are non-refundable.
