Test RequirementsStudents (First-Year and Transfer Students) wishing to enroll in certain mathematically-related courses must pass the appropriate Mathematics Departmental Placement Examination: The Liberal Studies Mathematics Proficiency Assessment or the Precalculus Proficiency Assessment. Completion of courses or placement exams at other colleges or universities do not provide an exemption from the various prerequisite requirements at SDSU, unless otherwise stated in the General Catalog. Prerequisite Course Requirements 1. Liberal Studies Mathematics Proficiency Assessment
2. Precalculus Proficiency Assessment
In order to register for Math 150 (Calculus) a student must either: (1) satidfy the CSU Entry Level Mathematics requirement AND pass the Precalculus Proficiency or (2) complete Math 141 (Precalculus) with a grade of "C" or better. It is recommended that students in the following majors enroll in Math 150 during their first semester at SDSU:

The fee is $20.00 for each exam. Tickets are non-refundable.
