The state of California requires future teachers to complete a computer education requirement in order to receive a CLEAR teaching credential. EDTEC 470, Technologies for Teaching is a course designed to meet this requirement. Some students may already have skills and knowledge in computer education so the EDTEC 470 Proficiency test can be used to challenge the course. The tests consists of a written section and a practical application section.
Who Needs to Take the EDTEC 470 Proficiency Test?
Any student who feels he or she has sufficient skills and knowledge in computer education to challenge the EDTEC 470 course.

EDTEC online registration (credit card or check).
Online Registration hours of availability: 6:30 a.m. - midnight (PST)
OR
Fill out the EDTEC mail-in registration form.
OR
Come to the SDSU Testing, Assessment & Research Office, (SSW-2549), during business hours (Monday - Friday 8 am - 4:30pm) and purchase a ticket of admission. The fee for the EDTEC 470 Proficiency Test is $25.00. Tickets are non-refundable.
