Fall 2008 Admitted Freshmen

Important Test Requirements

There are two tests new students are required to take before being allowed to register for classes at any California State University (CSU) campus.

These tests are:

English Placement Test (EPT)

and

Entry Level Mathematics Test (ELM)

You may have already satisfied these requirements through your SAT, ACT, Advanced Placement test scores or with certain transfer courses. Check the CSU English Placement Test and CSU Entry Level Mathematics Requirements information to determine whether or not you have already met these test requirements.

If you have not already met these requirements you must take, and SDSU must receive the results for, the EPT and ELM before you will be allowed to register for classes.

You must take the test on or before May 3, 2008.

It is suggested that you take your test scores with you to SDSU New Student Orientation for planning and advising purposes. You may take the test(s) at any CSU campus. To register for the test(s) at:

San Diego State University - use the EPT/ELM registration page

For all other CSU locations, check the CSU Address and Phone Numbers to obtain the contact information for the location where you intend to test. This list also provides links for the CSU campuses that offer online registration for the EPT/ELM.

There is a Question and Answer section included for your convenience.
