SDS requires an orientation for students new to our program who use test accommodations, readers, notetakers or research assistants. Before attending this orientation, you must have completed your results/intake appointment with a SDS counselor or learning disabilities specialist. The orientation workshop introduces our services and how to use them. Returning students are also welcome to attend, especially if there are services they have not yet used and would like to begin using.
Services covered in the orientation include:
In addition, at this workshop you will receive your Authorized Academic Accommodations Form, which lists your approved accommodations, as well as tips on talking with your instructors about accommodations and other important resources for college success.
Call or come by SDS to register. If you cannot attend one of the sessions listed, please let us know. Since attendance is required before services can begin, we will make every effort to see that your schedule is accommodated.
