All San Diego State University (SDSU) students, regardless of nationality, citizenship, residency status, area of study, or grade point average, are encouraged to apply for as many scholarships as possible. SDSU Scholarships are awarded to students in recognition of academic excellence, individual talent, and leadership skills. Scholarships are also awarded to enhance the education experience by encouraging and supporting community involvement, SDSU study abroad programs, and faculty approved conference attendance that is part of a student's curriculum. Also considered is each student's ability to pay expenses while attending the university.
Online ApplicationsApplying for SDSU scholarships is as easy as 1.2.3. Just about everything you need is online. 1) Search scholarships by your major, 2) Select those for which you are qualified, then 3) Apply after you login. RequirementsWhen you apply for scholarships you must meet certain criteria or your application will not be reviewed or considered. Those requirements are detailed under each scholarship. All SDSU scholarship applications must include a written essay. Some also require letters of recommendation, resumes and grade transcripts. Application Filing Periods for SDSU Scholarships Fall: Mid-August through Mid-October Review the individual scholarship requirements for the exact deadline dates. Deadline dates are posted in the Scholarship News section on the main page during each application cycle. Types of ScholarshipsScholarship funds for SDSU students come from many sources such as private donors, corporations, professional associations, and SDSU alumni. University and Independent SDSU ScholarshipsUniversity and Independent Scholarships are awarded by specific university departments, campus organizations, or associations. When you apply for scholarships using the SDSU 1.2.3. application process online, you are applying for University and/or Independent SDSU Scholarships. Non-SDSU Administered ScholarshipsNon-SDSU administered scholarships may be available from organizations with which you have some affiliation. Check with your parents’ employers, high school, religious organizations, and other organizations and clubs to which you belong and the Other Scholarships section.
