Parents Count at SDSU!

Welcome to the SDSU family!  At SDSU, we value parents as partners.  The better informed parents are about SDSU, the better resource and coach they can be for their students.  This partnership opens the channels of communication between parents and the university and impacts programs and services, improving the quality of life for all SDSU students.  The Aztec Parents Association encourages parents to become involved and stay involved while their student attends SDSU.

Major Events and Programs

Parent Orientation – July and August
Parent involvement plays a key role in the academic success of students during their college years. For this reason, SDSU sponsors a Parent Orientation that runs concurrently with New Student Orientation.

New Student and Family Convocation – Saturday, August 30, 2008
Just as commencement is a ritual marking the completion of study, convocation is a ritual that signals the beginning of a college career, and serves as the official welcome to new students and their families to the academic community.

Transfer Student and Family Reception – (Immediately following the New Student and Family Convocation Ceremony) Transfer students and their families will have the opportunity to interact with college deans and professors from their discipline.

Family Weekend – September 26 and 27, 2008
Family Weekend is a time to celebrate family, friends and SDSU! Join your student and other Aztec Parents to experience college life, Aztec football and more!
