Paying Basic Tuition and Fees at SDSU

Check Student Account Services (Money Matters) for complete fee information.

You should pay your Basic Tuition and Fees in full two weeks prior to attending Orientation, unless your fees have been postponed by financial aid. All Basic Tuition and Fees must be paid before you will be allowed to register for classes. * When paying online, your fees should be posted within a half hour, but no later than the next business day. On-line payment methods include Electronic Fund Transfer(using your bank account information), MasterCard, American Express, Discover, and Diners Card are accepted. A service charge will be assessed with all credit card payment transactions.

It is recommended that you purchase your SDSU Card (student ID card) when you pay your fees. Students whose fees are postponed by Financial Aid should also purchase an SDSU Card. Bring your receipt and official identification to Orientation to pick up your SDSU Card.

If you are receiving financial aid and/or are eligible for a fee postponement, you will be able to register on time, as your fee payment will be automatically postponed until your award comes in. When your award comes in, Tuition and Fees will be automatically paid from those funds.

Financial Aid Information

The university will use your awarded financial aid (grants, loans or scholarships) to help pay for tuition, fees, on-campus housing and other university charges that you owe. If the amount of aid is insufficient to pay all of what you owe, you will be responsible for making payments with your own resources. After all university charges for the semester are paid, any remaining financial aid will be transferred to your bank account, so be sure to sign up for direct deposit on the Student Account Services website.

For more information, visit the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships website, or see Fall 2013 Freshman Steps to Enroll (Step 3).
