There is so much important information given to students and parents throughout the program, you won’t want to miss a second of it! It will greatly enhance your transition into the SDSU community.
Student Program
New Student Orientation
(schedule subject to change)
- Check-In (8 am, Aztec Center)
- Welcome
- Students and parents will separate into their respective orientation programs
- General Education & Graduation Requirements overview
- Information Fair
- Lunch with parents (lunch is provided for program participants)
- “Living Well at SDSU” workshop
- Introduction to College Department & Major Requirements*
assistant deans and faculty will meet with you about the requirements for your college, department, and major
- Course Scheduling & Registration Information
- Optional tours of campus and residence halls, Photo IDs (approximately 5 pm).
*All Colleges will not be represented all days. Be sure to sign up for a day your college is present. (Check the program dates.)
Parent Program
Parent Orientation runs concurrently with each New Student Orientation (schedule subject to change)

- Welcome
- Students and parents will separate into their respective orientation programs
- Parent Welcome and Student Services Overview: Representatives from Residential Education, Counseling & Psychological Services, the faculty and current parents will be available to address your questions.
- Information Fair
- Lunch with students (lunch is provided for program participants)
- “Preparing an SDSU Citizen” workshop
- Graduation Requirements Overview
- Academic Information Session*: assistant deans and faculty members from your student’s college will meet with you.
- Student Perspective: current student leaders will meet with you to talk about life at SDSU.
- Information Session on paying fees at SDSU, meal plans and more!
- Optional campus and Residence Hall tours (approximately 5 pm).

Note: Guests under 15 years of age are not encouraged to attend. All guests are required to register and attend the Parent Orientation program.
