Freshman Orientation (July, 2009)
All First-Time Freshmen are expected to attend New Student Orientation.
Here’s why you must attend:
- Register for classes earlier
- Understand General Education, major, and graduation requirements
- Receive essential academic planning and course registration assistance
- Learn to use SDSU’s Web registration system and other WebPortal services
- Meet with Assistant Deans, faculty advisors, and trained student Ambassadors
- Learn what it means to be a responsible member of the SDSU community
Register for classes earlier!
First-time Freshmen who attend New Student Orientation will:
- Be able to register for classes the following business day
- Receive an academic personalized information sheet
Orientation focuses on academic planning and prepares you to register for classes.

A series of programs and activities to welcome students to campus life.
Our online reservation system will open May 4, 2009 at 8 am.
There are a limited number of spaces at each orientation program, so plan to make your reservations on May 4, 2009. Do not make travel reservations before you register for New Student Orientation.
