The Newsletter for SDSU Student Affairs
As the academic year comes to an end, many across campus are winding down to enjoy some time off. However, here in Student Affairs things are just beginning. Many of you are in the planning stages of the summer routines of welcoming new students at orientation, convocation, and the Summer Bridge programs, or are gearing up for new residential students. Most of our departments count summer as a busy time of the year.
The strategic plan continues to guide us in developing student learning outcomes. This year each department in Student Affairs developed student learning outcomes based on the booklet Learning Reconsidered.
The seven student learning outcomes are:
The Strategic Plan has been useful because it has identified programmatic issues and/or barriers that need to be addressed to better serve our students in the realms of access, learning, and graduation. The assessment plans are under construction and warrant thoughtful attention. I look forward to the continued evolution of the plan.
