    Program Description and Course Offerings

The program in Sweden offers CSU students the opportunity to pursue full-time studies in selected departments of Uppsala University. Currently, studies in biochemistry, communication studies, freshwater ecology (limnology), comparative politics and conflict studies, and mathematics are available. Participating students are fully matriculated and integrated into the host university community. All instruction is conducted in English. Swedish language study is only required for fall semester. The program is conducted as an exchange, which permits Swedish students to attend CSU Campuses for an academic year on a reciprocal basis.

Sweden is the largest of the Nordic countries in area, population, and industrial output, with an economy that supports one of the world's highest standards of living. With Norway, it shares the Scandinavian Peninsula where winters last six months or longer. Due to its northern latitude, daylight dwindles to six short hours in midwinter; in midsummer, the sun rises at 2:30 a.m. and does not set until 9 p.m.

The program is affiliated with Uppsala University. All coursework is in English, except in the Fall when Swedish language study is required.

Language Requirement: None. Must be willing to study Swedish.
