    Program Description and
    Course Offerings

The island nation of New Zealand is located between the South Pacific Ocean and the Tasman Sea. The isolation in geological time of the two major islands, and the smaller associated islands, which make up the country has produced a unique biological environment which contains many unique species of plants and animals. A land of great natural beauty, New Zealand has become a major agricultural exporting country. The conflict between its need to maximize export production and its need to preserve its limited natural resources has been a constant concern for New Zealanders. For these reasons, New Zealand provides a particularly interesting study locale for CSU students in the areas of agriculture, science, business, and social science. Students are enrolled at either Massey University or Lincoln University, and pursue coursework in agriculture and horticulture, business, geography, social anthropology, and Maori studies, parks and recreation management.

Since seasons are reversed in the Southern Hemisphere, the academic year begins in February and ends in November of the same calendar year.
