Opening EventThe Conference will open with a special play entitled Jungle Bells. This one-man show is written and performed by Barry “Shabaka” Henley. Born in New Orleans, Henley has appeared in numerous films and TV shows, including Ali, Grey’s Anatomy, the Showtime series Barbershop, NYPD Blue, Law & Order and the feature-film version of Miami Vice.

Theme: Building Visibility through Tradition, Active Leadership, and Pride
The 5th Annual Queer People of Color Conference aims to honor the advances made by queer people of color amid various geopolitical, sociological, and institutional pressures. This year’s workshops will fit into the overall theme of building visibility in the community through embracing and reinventing traditions, facilitating leadership, and maintaining pride.

The SDSU Diversity Awards is currently taking nominations. The SDSU Diversity Awards serve as an opportunity for the entire San Diego State University community to come together and celebrate their long standing commitment to diversity, inclusion, and social justice.

Co-hosted by San Diego State University’s National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) and United Sorority and Fraternity Council (USFC) and sponsored by the Office of Intercultural Relations/Cross-Cultural Center, the First Annual Greek Summit 2010 strives to educate participants on the mutual struggles faced by all members of NPHC and USFC.
