The Cross-Cultural Center
LGBTQ Resource Area

Mission
The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer/Questioning Resource Area assists the university in establishing an environment committed to diversity and provides a comprehensive range of resources, support, education, and advocacy to promote the personal and academic growth of students, faculty, and staff. We strive to prepare our students to contribute to progressive social change and build a campus that is free of hate, discrimination, gender bias and sexual oppression.
Vision
Our vision is to create a safe, inclusive, and affirming environment for the LGBTQ community and its allies. Therefore, all activities developed by the LGBTQ Resource Area will nurture healthy dialogues, active listening, and reflective exploration about LGBTQ life and culture for all individuals. In our commitment to fostering a campus climate that appreciates the wide spectrum of diversity within SDSU and the larger community, we acknowledge and accept that all sexualities and gender identities and expressions work in relationship with race/ethnicity, socioeconomic status, faith, nationality, age, ability, and other social characteristics.
