STEPS TO APPLYING FOR ON-CAMPUS HOUSING
STEP 1 :
You can apply for a License Agreement once you have applied for admission and received your SDSU RedID. Log into the SDSU WebPortal and indicate your interest in on-campus housing (select the semester in the dropdown menu -- e.g., Fall 2010) in the Admission Status section of your account.
STEP 2:
The License Agreement will be available in early March to admitted
students when University Cashiers posts the $400 Intent
to Enroll payment. Therefore, the sooner you submit your Intent
to Enroll payment, the sooner you will be granted
access to the License Agreement. Intent
to Enroll payments made online through CASHNet will
be posted immediately while payments that are delivered
or mailed will be posted after University Cashiers
receives and processes the payment.
STEP 3:
SDSU has a wide variety of residential learning communities; find the one that’s right for you! Try our “hall selector” Web site at http://www.sa.sdsu.edu/housing/find-your-hall.html if you’re not sure which community is right for you.
STEP 4:
You may have many questions about on-campus living; visit our comprehensive list of Most Frequently Asked Questions at http://www.sa.sdsu.edu/housing/faq.html from the Office of Housing Administration.
STEP 5:
Complete Living Choices. The online License Agreement process requires you to complete your
Living Choices online but you must download, print, sign
and mail all other License Agreement documents and make
the initial $800 payment. Online changes to your Living
Choices will be allowed at any time prior to Monday, May 24, 2010 for the academic year (Thursday, December 23, 2010 for spring semester)
unless otherwise notified. The information that you provide will be used in assigning your room, roommate, meal plan (if applicable), and residential learning community.
STEP 6:
Complete the Student Housing License Agreement. Complete all Licensee (the student) and Guarantor of Payment (parent/guardian or other) information. To be guaranteed housing, sign and return all the applicable
completed License Agreement documents and the initial $800
payment by May 1, 2010. However, priority for assignment
will be on a first-come, first-serve basis based on the
date your completed License Agreement is received and processed
by the Office of Housing Administration.
For students who are paying by mail, we strongly recommend allowing extra time for payments to be received
and recorded by the University Cashiers, as we are not responsible
for delays in the mail.
**International students should contact the International Student Center Program Coordinator at sclinton@mail.sdsu.edu BEFORE you start filling out the License Agreement documents. There is important information that you will need before you can complete the License Agreement.
Step 7:

reserved for you. Your specific hall and room type
assignment along with your roommate information will be available
in the SDSU WebPortal: your room type in late-July and your specific hall and roommate in early-August. A move-in guide will also

Their new housing assignment priority date will be the date the last document and/or payment is received. The Office of Housing Administration cannot be responsible for delays in the mail delivery.
Financial Aid and the Application Process
If you will be receiving
financial aid,
you still must submit your initial $800 payment with
your signed and completed License Agreement documents.
Students should keep in mind that financial aid disbursements are not
made until just before classes begin. Since housing spaces are reserved
on a first-come, first-serve, space-available basis depending upon
when we receive and process your completed License Agreement documents
and initial payment, you should plan on making the initial $800 payment
using your own funds. If you are waiting for the disbursement of student
loan funds, you are responsible for making all payments due until those
funds become available. Complete your loan process
early.
If you are a new undergraduate SDSU student for fall 2010, from a family
with low income, and you have applied for financial aid, the Office of
Financial Aid and Scholarships will notify you if you are eligible to
postpone all or a portion of the initial payment. Log on to AidLink
to check your financial aid status. All questions regarding postponement
eligibility should be directed to the Office
of Financial Aid and Scholarships.
