Residential Education Live-On Student Staff Opportunities

Below is a list of the live-on job opportunities available in the SDSU residence halls. Although Residential Education accepts applications on a rolling basis, we hire for majority of our positions during our recruitment drive early in the spring semester.

    Academic Mentor, Community Assistant and Resident Advisor positions available for the 2013-2014 academic year

    Residential Education is looking for emerging leaders who have at least a 2.5 SDSU cumulative GPA (for RAs and CAs) and a 3.0 SDSU cumulative GPA (for AMs).

  • All applicants must attend ONE mandatory information session to be considered. The information session dates and locations are as follows:
    Wednesday, January 23rd - Cholula Community Center at 7pm
    Tuesday, January 29th - Villa Alvarado Community Center at 6pm
    Wednesday, January 30th - Student Life and Leadership at 2pm
    Wednesday, January 30th - Cholula Community Center at 7pm
    Monday, February 4th - Tula Community Center at 7pm
    Tuesday, February 5th - Student Life and Leadership at 2pm
    Wednesday, February 6th - Tula Community Center at 7pm

Additional Student Staff Opportunities

  • Desk Assistant
  • STAR Center Assistant

These positions are available to student that live on or off campus. Please read the descriptions below and click on the link provided to go to the online application.

Desk Assistants (DAs) work at the front desks of each of our 6 residence halls. DAs are the front line of safety and security of the residence halls, and complete a number of varied tasks. Because our front desks are open 24 hours a day, we have need for DAs around the clock. DAs are paid $8/hour.

STAR Center Assistants staff one of our three STAR Centers (Chapultepec, Maya and Olmeca, and Tenochca). STAR Center Assistants (or SCAs) answer resident questions and help our students utilize the resources in the STAR Centers. SCAs must have a cumulative 3.0 SDSU GPA, be a full time SDSU student, and be available to work 14 hours/week in the evenings. SCAs are paid $8.00/hour. First years with strong HS academic records may also apply.

Housing Facilities Student Assistant Positions
Employment period: May 19- August 31
Students will work 20-40 hours per week due to demand of Summer Conference Schedule for Housing
All positions will start at $8.50 per hour, unless there is previous work experience with Housing Facilities Services.
