Cuicacalli Suites

Cuicacalli Suites has all-suite accommodations for 798 residents, an in-house dining facility, Aztec Market convenience store, Aztec Grill, swimming pool and sand volleyball court.

Cuicacalli Suites consists of three buildings; Tacuba the east tower, Tepeyac the west tower, and the middle building which houses the dining facility, The Dining Room. The Dining Room offers all-you-care-to-eat meals and is the best value for the meal plan dollar.

There are two different layouts for the suites: each housing nine or ten students depending on the suite configuration. One model consists of two triple rooms, four single rooms, a living area and two bathrooms. The second model consists of one triple room, six single rooms, a living area and two bathrooms. Each suite is same-gender; floors are coed.

Living communities include the Zapotec Honors House for students who have been accepted into the SDSU Honors Program, a Business floor, and Toltec House for freshmen students who are undeclared.

Residents of Cuicacalli are in close proximity to Aztec Center, two parking structures, and a Red & Black Shuttle stop. (see the campus map)

 

Ancient Aztec Meaning

Cuicacalli means the House of Song. Young people visited the house/school as part of their curriculum, to prepare them for careers.

Tacuba & Tepeyac are ancient causeways joining Tenochtitlan to the mainland.
