The LLC @ Maya & OlmecaThe Living Learning Center (LLC) is designed to assist first-time freshmen as they make the transition from high school to college. Most students who live in the LLC are enrolled in a set of academic courses with approximately 25 other LLC students. Students have seven residential learning community options available to them when they choose to live in the LLC: Business Floor, Emerging Leaders Program, Health and Healing Professions, Toltec House for Undeclared Majors, Social Activism and Global Environments (SAGE), Women in Science and Engineering (WiSE) and Discover San Diego. The LLC is a unique community where freshmen students encourage each other to succeed as they share experiences in and out of the classroom. The environment is fun and supportive, a place where students from diverse backgrounds explore personal interests while achieving academic success. The LLC provides the opportunity to further campus involvement, leadership development, and academic achievement. Students who wish to live in the LLC, and participate in a residential learning community, must complete a Participation Agreement prior to the first floor meeting. Maya & Olmeca Halls, on the east side of campus, are home to the LLC. Each three-story red brick building houses approximately 200 students. Each hall includes a laundry room, study room, and community kitchen. The east campus swimming pool for LLC, Tenochca and Zura residents is located adjacent to Maya Hall. The LLC also has an academic resource room called the STAR Center and two classrooms, solely for LLC residents. Residents of the LLC are in close proximity to Aztec Center,
the Cuicacalli Dining Room, Aztec Grill, Aztec Market convenience
store, a swimming pool and sand volleyball
court, two parking structures, and a Red
& Black Shuttle stop. (see
