On-Campus Housing

Advantages to Living in the LLC

In the LLC you will enjoy a small academic college atmosphere while having all the opportunities of a large university. During the fall semester, most residents are enrolled in a set of general education courses together with other freshmen from the LLC, making the experience at a large university seem more like a community. As you enjoy the convenience of living in a campus residence hall, you also have access to in-hall tutoring, computer resources, study rooms, classrooms, and faculty and staff mentors.

The nine LLC Academic Mentors
The Academic Mentors are students interested in building a positive community in the LLC and assisting you with your transition from high school to college. They provide academic incentives, programs and activities to promote academic success.

The Living Learning Center program includes:

• Course packages - You and your LLC friends are automatically pre-enrolled in academic courses through the residential learning communities program for your first semester.
• Academic Mentors (AMs) - Experienced students offer one-on-one guidance to help you develop a plan for academic success and a smooth transition to SDSU.
• On-site Amenities - Take advantage of in-hall classrooms, tutoring, 24-hour computer room, and academic resource lab.
• Faculty-mentoring - A faculty member who cares about your success resides in the LLC.

When compared to other first-time freshmen at SDSU, students living in the LLC:

• have higher grades
• are more likely to return for their second year
• are less likely to be on academic probation
• more likely to graduate in four years
