Chapultepec Hall

This 11-story high-rise houses 550 students. The ground floor hosts a study lounge, recreation room, TV lounge, music room, community kitchen and laundry facility. An Aztec Market convenience store and the Cholula Community Center are located just outside the residence hall’s front doors. Chapultepec also is home to one of the STAR Centers.

Living communities include Aztec Engineering, Extended Quiet Study, Physical Fitness (P-Fit P-Act), Fine Arts and Substance-free floors. Chapultepec also offers a Double As a Single room option, which is a traditional double room all to yourself or a Super Single, which is double room with one set of furniture.

Located on the west side of campus near University Towers, "Chappy" is near the athletic fields, Peterson Gym, Cox Arena, the Aztec Recreation Center, parking lots and a Red & Black Shuttle stop. (see the campus map)

 

Ancient Aztec Meaning

Chapultepec refers to a stately forest through which the Aztecs arrived at the site of Tenochtitlan. It is a Nahuatl word, which means literally, "the hill of the grasshopper."
