| Adding or Dropping Units | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Adding or Dropping Units Before CensusDisbursement of financial aid is based upon the number of units in which you are enrolled at the time your aid is disbursed. Your disbursement statement will detail this information. If you ADD units after your financial aid has been disbursed:You may be entitled to additional funds, which will be released during the next scheduled disbursement. If you drop units after all your financial aid funds have been disbursed prior to census:Because we do not know the exact number of units for which you are enrolled until after census, you may have received full-time funds that you were not entitled to. If you received an overpayment—
Important: Enrolling in 6.0 units or less means that you pay a lower registration fee. This lower cost affects eligibility for a State University Grant and other aid. Dropping Units after CensusIf you drop units after census, you may not be required to repay financial aid funds. However, because your enrollment has changed, you may be 'unit deficient' and may not be eligible for future financial aid. (Refer to Academic Progress-Unit Deficiency and Its Consequences.)
