Short-term Loans

Information for all DSS Students | Home

The short-term loan program is available for use by disabled students. The loans are administered by Student Financial Services, employing similar guidelines as those established for the University's regular short-term loan programs.

Students must be enrolled for the current semester and possess a current University photo I.D. card and validation. Registration fees must be paid before the loan application can be processed.

Funds can be used for any short-term financial need that would contribute to keeping a student in school such as books, rental deposit, emergency car repairs. Travel may not be used as a valid reason for requesting the loan.

The minimum loan is $75.00 and the maximum is $350.00. You will also be charged a $15.00 non-refundable processing fee, but there is no interest on the loan.

Repayment should be completed by the end of the semester in which the loan was made. Repayment can occur in a lump sum or in installments spread throughout the semester. For students receiving financial aid, repayment will be deducted from the total award.

For additional information and application forms, contact the DSS office (594-6473).
