Founder Ed Brand Looks at Where it Has Been and Where it is Going

Rhetoric Sweetens Sweetwater Success
Glen McClish, chair of the department of Rhetoric and Writing Studies at SDSU, has been collaborating with Compact for Success since the start, for over a decade now, with the goal of improving students’ language skills. He and his departmental colleagues do this by coaching grade 7-12 teachers in the Sweetwater District, helping them make the shift to a rhetorical approach in their language arts classes. Renewing the Memorandum of Understanding

SDSU’s Peer Mentoring Program
In growing the skills of both mentors and mentees, practices do not get much better than the SDSU Peer Mentoring Program. The goal of the Peer Mentoring collaboration is to increase transfer and graduation rates among participants from Southwestern Community College and San Diego City College.
