Web Publishers’ Responsibilities

Introduction

SDSU Web publishers must ensure that information published be:

Written content should follow guidelines provided in the SDSU Editorial Style Guide.

Web Publishers Include:

1. Colleges, Departments, Program Centers and Auxiliaries

The college deans, department chairs, and program center and auxiliary directors or their designees must authorize and be responsible for the content of the college, department, program center, and auxiliary Web pages and/or Web servers.

2. SDSU Sanctioned and Approved Student Organizations

The SDSU faculty sponsor or student activities staff advisor of each organization or their designate must authorize and be responsible for the content of the student organization's Web page.

3. Faculty, Staff and Students

Faculty, staff and students may create SDSU-related or personal Web pages. An SDSU-related Web page is a posting that contains instructional or administrative-related information specific to an individual’s duties, responsibilities, or activities within SDSU, and is pertinent to and in support of research/scholarship, creative activities and/or institutional management.

A personal Web page contains information of a personal nature, e.g., this is my dog Spot, my skiing trip to Colorado, my interests.
