The Chapter Standards of Excellence Program serves to assist the University Greek community in general and each chapter in particular in functioning at the most effective and efficient levels possible. Rho Lambda is a honorary organization for Panhellenic sorority members. It is an organization that accepts members based on academic performance, leadership, and community service. Each semester members of the Greek community apply to be initiated into Rho Lambda. The active members of Rho Lambda then select the new initiates from the applications they received. Order of Omega is a Greek honorary organization that believes in high scholarship, leadership skills, and community involvement. These attributes make an individual perfectly suited for initiation into Order of Omega. This honorary organization is a nationally recognized organization. [more on Order of Omega]
The Theta Xi chapter of Gamma Sigma Alpha at San Diego State University prides itself on high academic ideals. All initiates must have a 3.5 cumulative GPA in order to be eligible for the honorary. Gamma Sigma Alpha is a nationally recognized organization. [more on Gamma Sigma Alpha]
GAMMA is a national student organization with over 750 chapters on campuses across the United States. Through education and activities designed to increase awareness of substance abuse issues, GAMMA focuses on the development and promotion of positive lifestyles and healthy choices. GAMMA recognizes the extremely important peer relationship, which can be a strong support for responsible, health decision-making. GAMMA encourages informed, independent decision making with respect to state laws and campus policies, and advocates healthy lifestyles. The goal of the program is to increase awareness about rape, potential rape situations and sexually coercive behavior while decreasing the acceptance of rape myths. Members of Frat MANers educate men about rape and their role in reducing violence against women. This program is advised in student health services. [more on FratMANers]
