ZX Chapter
"Semper Florentes Qualis
Graeci"
San Diego State University is proud to host the Theta Xi chapter of Gamma Sigma Alpha Academic Honor Society for current members of our fraternity and sorority community. Gamma Sigma Alpha was developed and coordinated solely by students and offers members the opportunity to cultivate LEADERSHIP skills through officer positions, chapter programming and the national executive board. This Honor Society offers the chance for highly motivated and creative thinkers to assist with developing programs to promote academic excellence amongst the entire fraternity and sorority community as well.
Membership applications are available in both the fall and spring semesters and upon invitation to join Gamma Sigma Alpha, the new members pay a one-time membership fee that entitles them to a LIFETIME of experiences and academic enrichment through Gamma Sigma Alpha. Students are eligible for membership based on grade point average (GPA) and active membership in a Greek fraternity or sorority recognized by San Diego State University.
The society strives to uphold the high ideals of scholastic achievement, and therefore, only students with a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or above (on a 4.0 scale) at the start of their junior year or a grade point average of 3.5 or higher in any semester during their junior or senior year are eligible.
Members receive the unique opportunity to NETWORK with other outstanding Greek students as well as university faculty and administration, through the Society's goals and activities. The shared commitment to achieve scholastically fosters the bonds of friendship and mutual respect between members, as they participate in Gamma Sigma Alpha programming.
By accepting membership into Gamma Sigma Alpha, students are recognized for outstanding SCHOLASTIC ACHIEVEMENT. The Society's activities and programming enrich a student's understanding and commitment to academics. Gamma Sigma Alpha enables members to further personal achievements in academica, as well as to promote scholarship in the university community.
