2009 Homecoming King and Queen Crowned

photo of the Homecoming King and Homecoming QueenDuring halftime between the Aztec football game against BYU on Oct. 17, Rex Brown Jr. and Teresa “Tess” Banko were crowned as SDSU’s 2009 Homecoming King and Queen.

The Student Veteran Organization nominated Banko, while Golden Key International Honour Society nominated Brown. Criteria to be chosen for SDSU’s Homecoming Court include academic achievement, campus involvement and community engagement. Fourteen student leaders were selected to the 2009 Homecoming Court.

Banko is majoring in Social Work, holding a 3.59 grade point average. In addition to her involvement in the Student Veteran Organization, she is involved in the Undergraduate Social Work Association and Rotoract.

Brown is majoring in Business Management with a 3.85 GPA. He is currently the president of the Golden Key International Honour Society and the founder and CEO of Baskets 4 Hope, a nonprofit that promotes athletic programs and educational initiatives to empower inner city youth.
