Wednesday, Nov. 5: "An Afternoon with Krishnammal Jagannathan," 2 p.m., Aztec Athletic Center Auditorium. Jagannathan has dedicated her life to the mission of liberating Dalit ("untouchable") women and their families from their misery and servile bondage to the landlords in the Tanjore area. She will talk about her meetings with Gandhi and Martin Luther King Jr., and her life work with the women and children of India. A question and answer session will follow, where she’ll talk on important issues such as human rights, social justice, and giving back in a global world. More information.
