Get Involved – Join Associated Students!

Do you see something that needs to be changed on campus, but not sure how to make it happen? Do you want to get more involved on campus?

Associated Students (AS) would like you to consider becoming involved in the AS Council. It is the group that helps decide how AS’ $19.1 million budget is spent. The group also represents the SDSU student body as a whole, at the state and national level, through lobbying for student interests and is one of the groups that help to plan and authorize the money for some of the programs you might already enjoy such as Homecoming and Spring Fiesta!

AS is a diverse group of students with varying interests, extracurricular commitments, opinions and ideas. There is no one “type” of AS Council member.

  • Previous AS Council experience is not required. Only half of the current AS Council members held a seat on the Council last year.
  • You might already know someone who is a member of the AS Council – more than 65 percent of current Council members are involved in at least three other student organizations.

Candidate packets are available for all vacant seats including the five executive officer positions and all college council representative seats. These applications can be picked up in the AS Government Affairs Office in the lower level of Aztec Center and are due back no later than Friday, Feb. 16 at 4 pm. AS General Elections will be March 19-22.

Please stop by the AS Government Affairs Office or call (619) 594-6555 with any questions!
