How Many Cheeseburgers Did You Drink Last Weekend?
Take the anonymous and completely confidential e-CHUG online survey and receive a personalized report about your use of alcohol; how many calories you’re consuming from alcohol alone in a given month; how much money you’re spending on alcohol in a year; and what your risk level is for developing alcohol dependence or future alcohol-related problems.
Did You Know...
- By consuming three to four drinks*, two to three times per week, in month you will guzzle down 5,590 calories. This is the same amount of calories found in about 16 cheeseburgers!
- Someone who spends $15 a week on alcohol will shell out $780 a year (about the cost of THREE video iPods).
- People taking allergy medications such as Benadryl, or women on birth control pills should be aware of drug interactions with alcohol. These and several other medications negatively interact with alcohol.
- How much liquor can you hold? The greater amount of alcohol you’re able to “hold” or drink without “feeling drunk” does not mean that you’re processing alcohol at a faster rate OR that you’re not being affected by alcohol. A “high alcohol tolerance” actually puts you at greater risk for damaging your internal organs without realizing it, since you’re likelier to consume more alcohol until you “feel” its effects.
- A driver with a Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) level of 0.15 is 380 times more likely to be killed in a single-vehicle car crash than a driver who hasn’t consumed alcohol. FYI: A BAC level of 0.15 is estimated to be about four to five drinks for a 120-pound female, and six to seven drinks for a 160-pound male.
