Tips from the Ombudsman

For students seeking conflict resolution or disputing their grade, the Office of the Ombudsman recommends the following:

• First, speak to the professor about the concern
• If you still feel things are unresolved, talk to the department chair
• Third, see the assistant dean for Student Affairs of the college
• Finally, discuss the issue with the Ombudsman

Informal procedures must be attempted before a student may file a grievance with the Student Grievance Committee.
