Voter RegistrationWhat better way to get involved with your local community and your nation than participating in the election process. But you must be a registered voter. Did you know that if you’ve moved recently and don’t plan to vote in your home neighborhood via absentee ballot, you must re-register to vote with your new address? And, if you just turned 18 and have never voted before, this November is your time to start! Visit the AS Government Affairs Office for voter registration forms and details about a registration contest that will pay money to the student organization that registers the most people to vote by the October 23 deadline. AS Vice President of External Affairs Khouloud Elmasri is organizing the voter registration efforts and the registration contest. Elmasri said that one of the best ways for students to initiate change in their communities is through voting and getting involved with the election process. “Change starts when people realize their efforts alone can make a difference,” Elmasri added. “People should never stop believing their voices will be heard.” For more information on the Voter Registration Contest, contact Khouloud Elmasri via e-mail at as.vp.ext.@sdsu.edu.
