Helpful Academic Tips for the First Weeks of School
Keep in mind the following tips as you navigate through the first weeks of classes.
- The last day to make any schedule adjustments is Monday, September 18 at 6 pm. This includes adding and dropping courses, and changing the grading basis of courses.
- The Academic Advising Center is open weekdays from 9 am 6 pm (4 pm on Fridays). Because traffic in the Advising Center is so heavy during the first weeks of the semester, it is best to speak with an adviser about routine inquiries after the schedule adjustment period (August 28 September 18).
- The deadline to apply for December 2006 graduation is Monday, September 18. More information about applying for graduation and graduation applications are available on the Office of the Registrar’s Web site.
- As you are deciding what classes to take, be sure to check the Class Schedule list of added/expanded course sections periodically for updates.
- Don’t forget to use your Major Academic Plan (MAP) and degree evaluation to help you stay on track and graduate on time. MAPs can be found at www.sdsu.edu/mymap, and degree evaluations are available in your WebPortal.
