Boo Parade 2006

Attention students and student clubs: make plans now to participate in the 2006 Windmill Farms Boulevard BOO! Parade. The BOO! Parade will once again coincide with SDSU’s homecoming on Saturday, October 28 and the Halloween season.

The Boo Parade will take place along El Cajon Boulevard between 59th Street and Montezuma Road. Everyone – participants and spectators alike -- is encouraged to get in the spirit of Halloween and dress up in creative costumes! The parade starts at noon.

Last year, SDSU was well represented in the parade, which included the Homecoming Court in vintage convertibles, the school of Theatre, Television and Film, Aztec sports teams, the Associated Students, the Aztec Warrior, the SDSU cheerleaders, the wacky-costumed Marching Aztecs, the regal SDSU Air Force ROTC, and the All-Greek float competition. The SDSU Ambassadors supported the parade’s logistics.

First place went to the All-Greek float. The 2006 parade looks to surpass SDSU participation from last year.

There is a long history of parades along El Cajon Boulevard. San Diego State homecoming parades began in 1940 and were held most years until 1967. The Boulevard BOO! Parade resurrected the tradition in a big way in 2005.

Immediately following the parade, the Clay Park Carnival will provide live bands and dance troupes on stage, a costume contest with multiple prizes, carnival rides, food, information booths, and even more fun. Clay Park is located just south of the College Area Post Office on Art Street, one block south of El Cajon Boulevard.
