Fulbright Grants Start the Process Now!Even though applications for SDSU’s Student Fulbright grants aren’t due until Oct. 2, 2006, NOW is the best time to start the process. The upcoming grant applications are for the 2007-2008 academic year. Last year, four SDSU students and two alumni received Fulbright grants and are currently in Austria, Germany, the Netherlands, the Slovak Republic, Mexico and Malaysia (see Aaron Pratts' SDSU Month blog on the SDSU home page). This year, four SDSU students have been selected as finalists for 2006-07 grants to the Slovak Republic, France, Norway and Syria. Applicants must be U.S. citizens and have an undergraduate degree completed by September 2007. Graduate students at any level may apply, as may recent alums. These U.S. State Dept. Fulbright grants, offered since 1946 to promote cultural understanding around the world, are available each year to 1,200 students for 130 different countries. Students receive round trip airfare, and a living stipend for an academic year in another country. Information Workshops will be held:
To reserve a space at a workshop, email: fulbright@sdsu.edu Students should visit www.fulbrightonline.org for requirements, available countries and programs. SDSU Fulbright Adviser, Dr. Patricia Huckle, is available to meet with students (huckle@mail.sdsu.edu). Other Connections: |
