Looking back on the 26th Annual Martin Luther King Jr. ParadeDear SDSU Community and Friends, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to SDSU students and College Bound San Diego students and families for participating in the 26th Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Parade on January 14, organized by Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. Students arrived at the parade via trolley, car, and caravan. The university was well represented with students, staff, faculty, K-9 friends, and local community members. Despite a weather forecast calling for rain, nearly 450 people participated in the parade honoring one of our most prominent civil rights leaders. I am honored to be affiliated with a university that is dedicated to furthering the principles of diversity and equality. As stated on the back of the SDSU parade t-shirt, “We must learn to live together as brothers or perish as fools.” My special thanks to the SDSU Martin Luther King Jr. Parade and Black History Month Committee for organizing the event. With gratitude, Dr. James R. Kitchen Also in the Spotlight:MLK Parade | SDSU Month Blogs | Chalk Art Contest | Black History Month | Mammoth Mountain Snowboarding | Student Union Expansion Referendum
