SDSU Collaborates to Celebrate Black History Month

SDSU community members team up and get ready to celebrate the diversity and cultural awareness of Black History Month in February.

A variety of events will be happening throughout the month. The Cross-Cultural Center and the SDSU Black History Month Committee have compiled a comprehensive calendar showcasing the activities of various departments, faculty, students, and student organizations across campus.

If you belong to a student organization that is sponsoring an event not yet listed on the calendar, you will need to complete the Event Approval Form process in the Dean of Students office (SSW 1602) two weeks prior to the event.

The following Black History Month events are just a few SDSU looks forward to in February:

  • February 6 – 8: Tribute to Black Leaders, 10 am – 2 pm, Cross-Cultural Center (CCC), presented by the CCC and Associated Students
  • February 16: Music, Theo and Zydeco Patrol, Creole, 12 pm – 1 pm, Aztec Center Patio, presented by Cultural Arts and Special Events (CASE)
  • February 25: Gospel Fest, 4 pm, Montezuma Hall, presented by the Center for Community Based Service-Learning

For more information and to access the Black History Month calendar, go to the CCC Web site or phone 619-594-7057.
