Become and International Conversation PartnerPromoting cultural understanding, breaking down stereotypes, and increasing awareness of those from different backgrounds this is the purpose of the Conversation Partner Program at the American Language Institute (ALI), a division of SDSU’s College of Extended Studies. Each year the ALI welcomes up to 2,500 students from more than 30 different countries. The students come here to study English and learn more about America. The Conversation Partner Program gives ALI students the chance to do this. Each ALI student is matched up with an SDSU student, with whom they meet at least once a week. It is through these friendships that SDSU students learn about other cultures and how to embrace differences in others. Currently, ALI is recruiting SDSU students to participate in this unique opportunity. If you would like to participate in this program, please contact Laura Saylor at the ALI at lsaylor@mail.sdsu.edu or (619) 594-1967. Other Connections:
