Get involved with Associated Students the first week of school

The fall semester is quickly approaching. In order to make the most of your experience at SDSU, you need to get involved, have fun, create spirit and enjoy your time. Here are just two AS events you will see in just the first week of the school year:

Associated Students Board and Committee Mixer

Do you want to get involved? Are you unsure of how you can do something related to Associated Students that doesn’t include being on student council? How about joining an AS board or committee?

The AS Council, along with the Executive Officers will be hosting a mixer for interested students to meet and talk to people already serving on AS boards to find out more about getting involved. The mixer is scheduled for 2-3 p.m. on Wednesday, August 31. For more information on the mixer, or how to serve on a board or committee, call (619) 594-6555.

There are 22 AS boards and committees and 22 Senate Committees that AS also recruits for and finds student to serve on, so there’s bound to be something for everyone!

Welcome Back Dance

Remember those school dances that used to kick-off the school year? Well, we’re bringing the dance back and making it even better! Join us in Aztec Center on August 29 between 8 p.m. and midnight for dancing and other activities to showcase Associated Student’s services and the Aztec Center.

The AS Executive Officers wanted to create an event that would show all students that there are plenty of opportunities on-campus.

“This is a chance to have fun, a chance to get to know your fellow students … start building relationships and friendships. We wanted to provide a nighttime activity for students in a safe, on-campus environment,” said Chris Manigault, AS President.
