The 2005/2006 Academic Year BeginsSDSU welcomes all newly admitted and returning students to the 2005/2006 academic year. This fall, we have almost 8,900 new entering freshman and transfer students, as well as 25,000 returning students, for a grand total of almost 34,000 students. On a campus this size, it’s easy to get lost. But the advantage to a campus this size is that there are so many activities, clubs, programs and services, that there is literally something for everyone. Check out the Centers for Student Involvement to find out about leadership opportunities, student clubs, or Greek life. There you can find groups and activities affiliated with your college. Interested is sports? Besides SDSU’s 17 NCAA teams, there are sports clubs, intramural sports, and don’t forget the Aztec Recreation Center (ARC). The school of music and dance offers more than 100 recitals, concerts, special lectures and master-classes presented each semester by and for our students and the community. Award-winning theatre productions are performed on campus throughout the year. There are many opportunities to serve in student government through Associated Students’ college councils and boards and committees. Looking for an internship or job on campus? Go to Career Services. If you are an entering freshman, we’ll be seeing you this month at Freshman Orientation. Upcoming events for all students include: New Student and Family Convocation, Welcome Week, Family Weekend and Homecoming. We hope all of you will participate in these events to get to know what’s happening. Join in and connect to your SDSU. Also in the Spotlight: |
