Take Action… Fill Out a Student Action Card!

logo - Student Action CardIt seems they’re everywhere you go these days. Are they watching you? If you do it, do you get something for free? How long does it take?

Yes, comment cards seem to be everywhere these days. Those little cards sitting on tables or counters seem to almost be begging people to tell companies how the service was at a restaurant or how a Web site can be made better. When it comes to the newly instituted Student Action Cards, the AS Executive Officers want to assure you that they’ll do their best to make sure the comments you make are heard and the suggestions you give are addressed whenever possible.

The action card program, started last year by former AS Vice President of University Affairs, now AS President Chris Manigault, is seen as a way for students to make their concerns about SDSU known, and hopefully have such concerns addressed by those with the power at the university to make change happen.

Dennis Kramer, the new AS Vice President of University Affairs, said that he thinks noticeable change can happen on our campus as a result of students taking the cards seriously, and filling them out.

“We’re going to be collaborating with the departments on campus to make sure the students’ concerns are addressed,” Kramer said. “In a way, AS is sort of the middle person, making sure the comments are heard and looked at by someone at the university.”

Kramer urged students to voice their suggestions using the comment cards. They can be found at various locations on campus, including each Starbucks and East Commons, or you can access them online. If students would like a response, they must submit their e-mail address.

Not every problem noted on the comment cards has a quick solution, but even those comments that hit close to home will be heard.
